FESTIVALS AND EVENTS
When we’re not busy touring our own Rock and Roll theatre show or performing at private and corporate events, there’s nothing we enjoy more than playing a Festival. Come rain or shine, the Summer brings some great opportunities for outdoor events. We’re proud to have performed at many of the UK’s finest independent Festivals. From Bluesfest at the O2 Arena to the Goodwood Revival in Chichester, we’ve entertained crowds big and small. Below are just a handful of our recent favourites.
ISLE OF MAN CLASSIC TT
For three years now we have been invited over to the beautiful Isle of Man to feature on stage at the Classic TT. Classic bikes and vintage Rock and Roll; a match made in heaven! We perform for everyone from the bikers to the motorcycle fans who have travelled far and wide to watch these exotic racing machines. Over the course of the weekend we play the outdoor main stage and then later on, the VIP tent, a more formal setting. The crowd swap their biker leathers for tuxedos and party the night away to the sounds of the very best 1950’s Rock and Roll. It’s always a pleasure to be able to share the weekend with so many talented racers, many of whom declare their undying love for the music as we finish up our set.
BEER BOP A LULA
With the finest selection of beers we’ve seen at any festival, only just falling short of Oktoberfest, Beer Bop a Lula is a riot! A boutique festival for music lovers, foodies and ‘beer gurus’. After our headline performance at 2019’s event we got the chance to sample some of the many beers on tap. There were almost too many to choose from, but after finishing a hot summer evening’s set, they sure did hit the spot. Although there is plenty ‘on tap’ for the grown ups, there is a real family atmosphere to this festival and it was lovely to see so many young ones dancing to ‘Roll Over Beethoven’! How do they know all the words?! We very much hope to be invited back as it was a real highlight in our calendar.
VINTAGE FOR VICTORY
Jive and Lindy Hop classes, Rockabilly bands, Swing, Big Band, Classic Rock and Roll…Vintage for Victory has it all! This truly is a wonderful festival for lovers of all things 40s,50s & 60’s. In a leafy suburb of Cardiff, Whitchurch Village transforms into a hive of nostalgia and vintage fun with costumes, period vehicles and even full size replicas of a Spitfire and a Hurricane aircraft. There is a Carnival for the whole family, an RAF fly by and even camping for the ‘weekenders’. We played early afternoon one Sunday and got to witness some very fine dance moves. We had some photos taken next to this beautiful 50’s Cadillac and even got a chance to get behind the wheel. We didn’t get far though!! Everyone at the festival really invests in the spirit of the era which creates the most wonderful atmosphere. There are plenty of chances to pick up vintage fashion items from top 50’s style designers like Vivien of Holloway. This is another festival we can’t wait to visit again.
